Wow. I can't believe it's already Tuesday! The past week has gone by so fast and a lot has happened, but it's music time. I chose a song I often hear on K-Love, a Christian radio station. It's called Manifesto and is by The City Harmonic. I love this song not only because it's a praise to God, but the fact that it has the Lord's Prayer incorporated into it. It is so powerful and glorious; it makes my heart swell with so much love and praise I feel like I'm going to burst! Check it out. I'd be surprised if it doesn't speak to you in one way or another.
God Bless!!

Ready, Set...
SURPRISE!! I've decided to do a Film Friday along with Tune Tuesday. Ok, so it's probably not what you had in mind when I said I had a surprise, but that's all I got.
I have two movies to start with, both of which are amazing for any age. I'll start with the one I saw first.
Ramona and Beezus starring Joey King and Selena Gomez. Also featuring John Corbett, Ginnifer Goodwin, Josh Duhamel, and Sandra Oh. I won't give you a full synopsis because I want you to see the movies for yourself, but I'll give you a general overview. Ramona is a free spirited little kid that gets into a lot of trouble. She's sweet and adorable, but she seems to always get in the way or irritate the people around her. The movie deals with the relationship between the two sisters-Ramona and Beezus, their parents and the financial problems many adults face, and growing up at different ages. I love this movie not only because of the actors, but because it kept my interest the whole time. It caters to kids, teens, and adults very well.
Toy Story 3. I am so happy that this movie was made. The whole trilogy fits together so perfectly, and that doesn't happen often. In short, Andy is headed to college and the toys end up in a day care under the watch of a fluffy pink bear. The toys soon realize the day care is not where they are supposed to be, and plan a break out. The movie doesn't drag, and is quite funny in parts, suspenseful in others, and even has sad moments. It's hard to pick, but one of my very favorite scenes is the one at the end with Andy and the little girl. It is so precious and innocent. I think everyone can relate to this movie because no matter how ready you think you are to grow up, it's still hard to leave the childish things you loved, behind.
These two are so well made and really are family friendly movies. Go check them out. I hope you love them as much I as do!
God bless.

Tune Tuesday 2
Ok, so this week I came prepared with only 2 songs, rather than throwing an entire playlist at you. The first song was fairly common last year, and most people (at least the ones I knew) sincerely despised the song. I have to admit, that I was among them, but I grew to love it. A very good friend of mine whom I consider a little sister and I kind of made it our song. I haven't heard it in quite a while, but on the drive to Illinois on Sunday, it was on the radio.
Fireflies- by Owl City
At first, I thought it was dumb, and had no point to it. Well, the latter half of that still the same, but now I think of as light, fun, and innocent. It doesn't have to do with any of the crap a majority of songs have today, so maybe that's why so many people didn't like it. I'm just glad I'm not one of them. It's magical and makes me feel like everything is peace for a few minutes.
The second song is one I discovered just last night; completely unintentional, but to me, those are the best.
Mean-by Taylor Swift
Unlike Fireflies, Mean didn't take multiple listening to's to fall in love with. It's directed toward people who feel the need to break others down for the benefit of just being mean. It's also for those on the abused side. In the video, three different people are struggling with bullies, but in the end are the happy ones because they got want they wanted. I'm pretty sure everyone has dealt with at least one person that just tears them down for no reason. I've had quite a few, so this song means a lot to me. I hope it (and Fireflies) mean as much to you too.
I have a little surprise for later, so til then:
God bless!

Tune Tuesday!!
Alrighty, so I decided to go with Tuesday as the music day of the week. I debated going with today or Music Monday, but Tune Tuesday has a better ring to it. I had originally hoped to have an excellent, unknown to most, first song, but alas, I do not. Mainly because I've been listening to the same oh, 20 songs for the past few weeks. I guess that is part of the point; to share what my ears have been captivated by. That and to share lyrics that have a deeper meaning than many of the popular songs nowadays. But, with that said, this week I chose a soundtrack, instead of just one. May I present to you, the musical stylings of...
HAIRSPRAY!!!!
Yep. I am totally and completely engrossed with these songs. Every time I get in my Jeep, I turn my Ipod to Hairspray. If I'm in my room, my Itunes is set on repeat on sometimes just one song, but always Hairspray. The whole track is so upbeat and fun to sing and dance to. AND some of the numbers do have good messages.
1.Good Morning Baltimore
2.Nicest Kids in Town
3.It Takes Two
4.(The Legend Of) Miss Baltimore Crabs
5.I Can Hear the Bells
6.Ladies Choice
7.The New Girl In Town
8.Welcome to the 60's
9.Run and Tell That
10.Big, Blonde, and Beautiful
11.Big, Blonde, and Beautiful (Reprise)
12.(You're) Timeless to Me
13.I Know Where You've Been
14.Without Love
15.(It's) Hairspray
16.You Can't Stop the Beat
17.Come So Far (Got So Far to Go)
18.Cooties
19.Mama, I'm a Big Girl Now
I love love love 2 and 15. They are the most upbeat and humorous. After that, I really love 9, 13, 14, and 17. These four are kind of the "you can't get me down even though you've tried so hard" songs. My final favorite songs are 4 and 7. They are sung by the mean girls from the movie, but I just get a kick out of them. (Plus Brittany Snow is in both!) The others are good, but don't really stand out in my mind.
Well I think this was a pretty good starting point for Tune Tuesday. A little long, but hey, don't you expect that by now? Enjoy!

Okay, Let Me Try That Again
Huh. So much for posting more often. Only a three month break this time though, so I'm getting there! I do realize this blog is solely for my benefit and interest, but it's kind of fun to look back and reread what I've written. Maybe one day I'll actually have people I know visit and soak up all life's little insights I gather and carefully type out for viewing pleasure... Or not. Who knows. It's a toss-up. The thing that sucks about waiting so long between entries is the fact that I have to think back and remember cool/interesting/miraculous/sad/surprising/infuriating/etc. events/thoughts/stories that have happened and get them all out without rambling on and on and on. (Like that). For the sake of time and perhaps my being lazy, I'll just list the highlights.
Grandpa's cancer is GONE except for one small spot on his liver. Miracle straight from God.
I think I finally picked a college. Trying to get excited about this one... More later.
Hmm, I'm now to part where I can't think of anything else to save my life. Or this blog post. Eh, not really news, but I'll take it:
My newest celebrity girl crush is Brittany Snow. Forgive me as I gush over her. She is such an amazing person not to mention actress. Last fall she started the Love Is Louder campaign with the Jed Foundation. Go check it out. It's for anyone who feels alone, depressed, pressured, bullied, and all that jazz. It means a lot to me and I am so grateful for her. She's beautiful, but that's not why I love her. She seems so sweet and genuine. And funny. Read her tweets. They'll make you giggle. I could go on forever as to why I'm mesmerized by her, but I'll continue on to the next thing on my list.
I think I'm going to start an official "Music Day" for the blog. Like Music Monday, Tune Tuesday/Thursday, Song Saturday/Sunday. It may have one spotlight song or a whole playlist. I'm excited. I love doing song posts because it's like a look into my heart and mind at that moment.
So glad the crazy in between weather is finally over. I have no problem with winter or summer. It's when Mother Nature can't make up her mind. That's when I get cranky. *Side note on that. People get on my nerves big time when it comes to weather. First they gripe and groan about the cold after like, a month. Then when it gets warm, they're griping and moaning about the heat. I do not get it. That is all.*
I'm positive there's more, but considering the fact that it's 2:30 in the morn, and I have church in 8 hours, I won't make this post equivalent in length to a short novel. Ooh I did just think of one last note though. In addition to the Music Day, I'll do a Movie Day too. Bear in mind the first few will most likely be Brittany Snow movies. Did I mention that she's amazing?
Good night. Or morning rather.
God bless.
