Tune Tuesday 8

Hello my Lovelies. First things first, I need to make a correction to last week's post. Misery Business is not the other song I thought of. It was actually The Only Exception, (also by Paramore). Misery Business is still good, but it wasn't the one I was going to write about. Today, I have When The Sand Runs Out by Rascal Flatts and The Streak by Ray Stevens.

The Streak is from 1974, and my mother took it upon herself to show my brother and me the music video. Catchy it may be, I did not put it on here because I'm in love with it; it is practically superglued into my head. I keep singing the "Boogity, Boogity" part. Kind of annoying...

When The Sand Runs Out is my baby this week. It's about leaving something good behind when you leave this world, not being afraid to take chances, and changing yourself for the better. Very inspiring.

That's all for today. If I get on tomorrow, I'll try but I have a full day, it will be the last for a while. I'm getting my tonsils out on Thursday, so I doubt I'll have enough energy or patience to post.

God bless!

30 Day Random Question Challenge

I'm going to do one of the 30 Facebook challenges. I might do the photo one later, but with some modifications. For the days that I miss, (and there WILL be days) I'll just double up on the days that I do remember. Here are the first two:

7/16/11
1.One male celebrity in the world you would like to meet:
McDreamy. A.K.A Patrick Dempsey

7/17/11
2.One female celebrity in the world you would like to meet:
Kate Walsh

I'll refer to these posts as RQC and the question numbers from here on out. I'm kind of excited! See you on Monday!

A Wee Update

It's blistering hot outside, I already did my running for the day, and I'm watching Ghost Hunters International. Now is as good a time as any to give you that update I promised last night.
The biggest change I want to talk about is the name of my blog. I was never fond of the original, or the last one, so I did some thinking and decided on Blue Sky Lagoon. It actually does have some meaning, and isn't just some random name. To me, bright, clear, blue skies represent freedom and a part of something bigger than you can imagine. The Lagoon part comes from one of my favorite movies, The Blue Lagoon. Everything is so beautiful and peaceful, much like the blue sky. I Incorporated the two into the name because this blog is a great way to experience freedom. You can write anything you want, and hopefully, not be judged; but more than that, you don't have to have a set theme or required topic. In all, I think Blue Sky Lagoon is very fitting, and it doesn't advertise posts that are totally unrelated.

I'm trying to think of something else to write about that might interest you, but the only thing on my mind is my new mouth guard... I know. Lame. Oh, maybe I'll do another question/answer post.

Film Friday 5

Oh boy. These posting days really do sneak up on me. I'm sitting, looking over my movie stand in my room, trying to muster up something interesting to write about. Hmm, I think I'll go with Now and Then. First off let me say that I love coming-of-age films/shows/books. It's so neat to compare my experiences to those being played out in whatever I'm watching or reading.
Now and Then is about a group of four women who have been best friends since they were kids. It starts out with them as adults coming together after many years to help out one of their own. After a bit of background as to where they have been and why they are with each other again, the audience is taken back to their last "kid" summer in 1970. Each of the girls have different struggles, that the others don't know about, while at the same time, they are trying to solve a terrifying mystery that took place in their town years earlier.
*On a side note, I sincerely apologize if this is more rambling and not making sense than grabbing your attention and convincing you to see this movie. Even as I'm writing it, I have a hard time believing it's a good watch. (It really is though. One of my favorites!)
The movie ends with them grown up again, and with a new sense of how the world really is; not through the eyes of a child. It stars Christina Ricci, Thora Birch, Ashleigh Aston Moore, Gaby Hoffman, Melanie Griffith, Demi Moore, Rosie O'Donnell, and Rite Wilson. I don't think I've ever seen it on T.V, but the DVD is available to rent on Netflix, and is available to purchase online (and in some stores, but not many.) Don't let my horribly written recommendation keep you from enjoying this wonderful movie.
I will attempt to write an update post tomorrow.

Good night and God bless.

Tune Tuesday 7

It's interesting to look back at my old music posts and see how my preferences have changed. This week I'm all for Paramore. The first song is Brick by Boring Brick. It seems like a reoccurring theme, but again I'm not 100% sure what it means. Something about growing up and losing your innocence. Whatever it is, I love the song; as well as the music video.
The second song is Misery Business. I just really like the tune. The video doesn't make much sense, but the song is very catchy. That's all I have for today. Enjoy and I'll try to get back on track with the Film Fridays!

It's All About Me

Alright, I'm going to answer some random personal questions because one, I'm bored and trying to avoid doing something productive and two, I might actually learn some stuff about myself that I never thought about before. So here goes:

1.What are your goals in life?
As of right now, I want to have children, live in an old house, and have a career in the medical field.
2.How would you describe yourself?
Crazy shy until you get to know me. After that, funny-sarcastic. Logical, understanding, but also a little judgemental. (I am working on that though.)
3.3 places you would like to go on vacation.
In the U.S- Drive Route 66 end to end; Wilmington,NC; Some ski resort in Colorado.
Outside the U.S-Ireland; New Zealand; Santorini, Greece
4.When you die, would you rather be buried, or cremated?
I am actually more open to cremation than I was before, but I go back and forth because if for whatever reason, my body needs to be examined, it will be a bit hard to do so if I'm nothing but ashes. But I think I would rather be cremated than buried. Also, I have a fear of being buried alive, so yeah..
5.What do you do in your free time?
I really like to read and listen to music. Right now, I'm working on cleaning my room. I also like to surf the web and watch t.v. I bought a bike, but due to different circumstances, I haven't had a chance to ride it yet.
6.Do you like rainy days or snowy winter days better?
Snowy days. It's so much prettier than plain old rain.
7.Name 3 things in nature you find beautiful.
Sunsets. I love to take pictures of sunsets, and I'm pretty good at it, I might add.
Beaches. They are so calming and gorgeous.
Land from the sky. Everything looks so clean cut and perfect.
8.What is your favorite part of the human face and why?
The eyes. They are so expressive, unique, and they usually speak more than words.
9.Tell me about someone you really admire.
Don't make fun, but I ADORE Michelle Dugger. She's not a perfect mother, but she does so much for her family. I agree with her views and hope to be like her when I have kids.
10.Name your 5 favorite foods.
Mashed potatoes and gravy; Elbow macaroni with butter and parmesan cheese; Ceasar Salad; Taco Bell :) ; Crispix cereal.
11.Do you like to shop?
Very much. My favorite shopping is for antiques. I also like going into home improvement stores.
12.Something or someone you miss most from childhood.
Blissful innocence. Just being a kid and not having to worry about the future.
13.Are you happy with your life for the most part right now?
I usually have a different answer everyday. Right now I'm torn. I feel stuck in life and don't know how to get out of this rut. But I'm thankful for what I have so far.
14.What do you think would be the hardest thing for you to give up on?
I would have an incredibly hard time accepting not being able to have kids, if that should happen. I want a lot of little ones, and although I'm not against adopting, I'm sure there is a limit on how many one family can adopt.
15.Are you old fashioned?
Definitely. I am much more likely to adopt older ideas and traditions rather than newer ones.
16.What were you like as a kid?
I hate to admit it, but I was bossy and mean a lot. I was fun, but I really remember bossing other kids around.
17.If alcohol were banned, what would your reaction be?
I would be thankful. I know so people whose lives are centered around alcohol and have damaged the lives of those around them.
18.On a scale of 1-5, how organized are you?
4. Almost everything has a place, but doesn't always stay that way.
19.Name a couple of t.v shows you watch a lot.
I'm really into Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice. I guess I should add House Hunters regular and international too. Not because I like them, (strongly dislike to tell the truth) but because my mom loves them....
20.If you don't recognize the number on your caller ID, do you answer?
Haha, no I don't. I will NOT answer if your name doesn't pop up. If I have, then you're lucky. I almost always push 'silent' so the caller won't know I'm ignoring them. After, I say "If they really want to talk to me, they'll leave a message." I guess they don't want to talk because I usually don't have messages. Oh well.
21.Have you ever ridden in an ambulance?
Yes, when I was four. My mom thought I swallowed pills. I DID NOT, but got my stomach pumped and stayed overnight anyway.
22.What was your favorite sitcom growing up?
Friends
23.What's your favorite color?
Any shade of blue
24.Do you like your handwriting?
Eh no. It looks like, "Hi, my name is Bex and I'm in 4th grade." It's awful.
25.Do you still have your tonsils?
Yes, but not for long. Getting them out in less than two weeks.
26.Do you untie your shoes when you take them off?
Not usually. Unless they're my high tops.

No, not really.
38.Have you ever seen a dead body?
