Tune Tuesday 11

1. Courageous- Casting Crowns
"We were warriors on the front lines
Standing unafraid
But now we're watchers on the sidelines
While our families slip away

We were made to be courageous
And we're taking back the fight
We were made to be courageous
And it starts with us tonight

The only way we'll ever stand
Is on our knees with lifted hands
Make us courageous
Lord, make us courageous."

2.In Better Hands- Natalie Grant
"It's like the sun is shining
When the rain is pouring down
It's like my soul is flying
Though my feet are on the ground....

I am strong
All because of you....
I am changed
Yesterday is gone
I am safe
From this moment on
And there's no fear when the night comes around
I'm in better hands now."

3.Redeemer- Nicole C. Mullen
"Well I know my Redeemer lives
I know my Redeemer lives
All of creation testify
This life within me cries
I know my Redeemer lives

The very same God that spins things in orbit
He runs to the weary, the worn, and the weak
And the same gentle hands that hold me when I'm broken
They conquered death to bring me victory."

4.Hold Me- Jamie Grace
"Just when I feel this crazy world is gonna bring me down
That's when your smile comes around...

I love the way you hold me, in Your arms I'll aways be
You take each and everyday, make it special in some way
I love You more than the words in my brain can express
I can imagine even loving You less
Lord, I love the way You hold me."

5.Turn Around- Matt Maher
"If you're scared that you don't matter
If you're lost and need to be found
If you're looking for a savior
All you gotta do is turn around

Some turn to a bottle
Some turn to a drug
Some turn to another's arms
But it seems like it's never enough

Well I won't say, that you will ever fall again
But there is grace
To wash away your every sin."

Day Late and A Dollar Short (Tune Tuesday 10)

Normally I would just forget about making up a post, but since I promised a music entry, I figured one day late won't matter. I don't have any new material- instead, I have a favorite of mine that I have talked about before. Graveyard Song by Mae Whitman/Amber Holt from Parenthood. I just adore this song. Although it's short, it says so much, and I can sing it (and remember all the words) without actually listening to it at the same time. To me, it's very soothing and relaxing. It's also a great lullaby for unhappy babies. I often find myself singing this to myself to help pass the time. Like now...
Well, that's all I have for tonight. Maybe next week I'll list the song(s) out and include a piece of the lyrics like I did a couple of posts ago. I think I like that much better than writing why I like a certain song. Any hoo. See you next time.

God bless and good night.

Film Friday 7

I feel like a broken record, but I am sorry about the lack of movie (and music) postings here lately. I do have a valid reason though: we moved into a new house! It happened rather suddenly, and we moved ourselves, so it's been a bit of a mess trying to get settled. On top of that, we had company this past weekend and at the same time, I was house/pet sitting with no Internet. I really do intend to post every Tuesday and Friday, but truth be told, sometimes I don't have anything to write. Today for example, I'm having a hard time thinking of a movie to rave about. Sure, I have a whole world of films to choose from, but I want to share one that I am entirely excited about. Hmm. Perhaps today I'll write about two movies I am dying to see.

The first is The Help. I have mentioned in previous posts that I love old movies. Now I realize this isn't exactly an old movie because it was made only recently, but the setting makes it old. From what I can tell, it's about a reporter that wants to write a book from the view of the black house maids. Judging by the promos and clips, the ladies interviewed for the book tell some juicy secrets about their female employers. It looks like a funny, but heartfelt movie. I'd love to read the book too! (Oh, plus it have Chris Lowell, from Private Practice!!)

The second movie I am positive nearly everyone has seen. The Lion King. But not the regular ol' one. This one is going to be in theaters. IN 3D!! I LOVE this movie. Always have and always will. In my opinion, the old Disney movies were the best. They were simple, but so complex, and kids actually understood what was going on. I can't recall anything really inappropriate, which is hard to say about many of the films nowadays. I believe The Lion King starts showing on September 16th, and will only be in theaters for two weeks. Better buy your tickets ahead of time, if possible.

Well, that's all I have for you today. I'm off to do more cleaning and organizing. I will be back on Tuesday, so until then:

God bless!
