The way people drive has pushed others into full-on hissy fits for as long as I can remember. (Which really isn't that long), but since motorized vehicles have come to rule a large part of today's society, those behind the wheel have caused nothing but issues and anger in others. Maybe you are one of the many that view road signs as only a suggestion, or if you are like me, you actually want follow the law. Now that I'm driving my own vehicle almost everyday, I take notice of the ability, or lack thereof, of how people are driving. The number one thing that just irks me is the disregard to the speed limit. I know it's hard to believe, but it's there for a reason. Every single time I drive I have at least one person that thinks riding my butt will make me go faster. First of all, driving two inches away only ticks people off. And second, it's super dangerous. Even in the snow and ice I see cars following so close together it looks like they're attached. If one of them happened to slide not be able to stop, every one behind them would slam right into the next one. Just use some common sense. Didn't anyone pay attention in driver's ed? Sorry, I got off track a little. I do think learning car safety is super important, but this post really isn't about awful driving. I want to know why a majority of people put so much of their energy into yelling and cussing and being ugly to other drivers instead of being enraged at something that actually matters!
If you haven't looked around lately, or picked up a newspaper, or watched the news, the world is falling apart. The ozone layer is completely disintegrating, crime seems higher than ever, poachers are gaining respect and more land to kill, countries are in desperate need of some sort of intervention, and worst of all, the idea of God and his truth has turned into lies and slander.
Air pollution has been on minds all around the world for years and years. In the beginning, when scientists first discovered that the ozone was getting thinner, people just brushed it off. They either thought it wasn't true, or didn't care because they wouldn't be around when it would be nothing but a straight shot to space. Working to save the ozone is important now more than ever. I think all cars need to be earth friendly. The fuel source we have predominately used since the first cars is killing the earth. Yes, it would be expensive to fix, but I'd much rather be in debt than not have a place to live. If you can, get a hybrid car: one that uses better fuel, has solar panels, or uses electricity. We can stop the need for bad gasoline if we work together.
What has the world come to? Just a few weeks ago, at least two shooting in one week. One was the Arizona shooting. Why are some so twisted in the head they feel the need to kill? He may have thought he was doing a favor, but he caused more trouble and pain than relief. Second was a shooting in Omaha, NE. I know more about this one because I live so close. A boy was suspended from school so he shot the vice principal, another lady, then himself. He and the V.P died. I've never been sent home from school, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't that big a deal. You just get over it.
Sophia Bush, from One Tree Hill is always tweeting about animals that need our saving. I really appreciate her for that. If she didn't let people know, I would have never thought about it. In the past three days, I've signed two petitions to help bisons and rhinos. Go to www.twitter.com/SophiaBush to follow her. Poaching should be illegal. All animals are beautiful because they are God's creatures and believe it or not, we need them to survive. I'm not talking about eating, although there are nutrients we get from them. God made animals and humans to live side by side. Not live and hang on the wall.
I love God, but I have gone off track from him in the past. In the Bible, it says churches will turn away from him and teach lies. I never believed that would happen in my lifetime, but I was wrong. A couple of weeks ago, Pauley Perrette, from NCIS posted a picture on Twitter of a banner about her church. It said: "All Are Precious in God's Sight. This Church Supports Marriage Equality." This is a full blown lie. Yes, God loves all, but he does not love gays. In his eyes, and a true Christian, being gay is a sin. So for a church to say it's ok to love people of the same sex, they are not children of God. The devil has unfortunately entered that holy place. I'm sure that isn't the only House of God that has become tainted by the devil and people's ignorance to God. Please pray that churches will once again do what they are meant to; to teach the word of the Lord, and to welcome those who have made mistakes with open arms.
I hope this post will change your mind about fussing over the little things that don't mean anything in the end. Take charge and do something that will do good in the long run. I'll try to get start posting more often, instead of 8 or 9 month breaks! I'm sorry I don't have a poem or a song to send you off with this time. But hopefully, I've given you something to think about.
